Joyful Maternity Session at Holcomb Gardens | Indianapolis Maternity Photographer

There’s something magical about early morning light, and this Holcomb Gardens maternity session was the perfect blend of golden glow, playful moments, and pure family joy. Located on Butler University’s campus, Holcomb Gardens is one of my favorite spots for maternity photography in Indianapolis. With its lush landscaping, peaceful trails, and scenic backdrops, it creates a serene and beautiful setting for celebrating a growing family.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this gorgeous mama, her kind and supportive husband, and their sweet and spunky 2-year-old daughter. From the moment we started, this session was filled with energy and love. We played with bubbles, laughed together, and even had a mini dance party—Freeze Dance style! These moments brought so much life to the photos and helped capture the genuine joy and connection this family shares.

As an Indianapolis maternity photographer, I believe these sessions should be as fun and relaxed as they are meaningful. This one was all of that and more. The early morning start gave us the most flattering light and allowed us to beat the summer heat—plus, toddlers are always happiest early in the day!

This session was also a sweet celebration of the upcoming arrival of baby brother. It was clear how much love is already waiting for him. Big sister was full of personality and so proud to be part of the shoot. I loved capturing all of her silly, sweet, and sassy moments.
